Carnival Radiance Cruise Ship Interior Cabin Tour, Photos

A good travel agent will quiz you about your particular interests, travel style and preferences, and steer you to the perfect cruise line, ship, itinerary and cabin for you. They can also help you if something goes wrong just before, during or after your voyage. That said, given the complexity of booking a cruise — there are a lot of decisions to make during the booking process; trust us — we recommend you use a seasoned travel agent who specializes in cruises. As you might expect, pricing for ships will generally be lower during offseason periods such as September, October and parts of November.

Terrazza Staterooms

Here, find guidance on every Carnival cruise ship, from the newest to the oldest. She has worked in the cruise industry since 2015 and has taken over 30 cruises. Now, she helps over 1 million people per month to plan their perfect cruise holidays.

Cabins and suites

While our room was pitch-black all the time, which is perfect for napping and sleeping, not having any natural light can be an issue for some. We were surprised to see our stateroom could accommodate up to 4 people; it would have been very cramped in the cabin at full capacity unless the additional 2 guests were small children. You’re about to discover just what awaits you on a Carnival cruise. Start by exploring the incredible ports we visit… and the fun things to do, both on the ship and ashore. Many hotels we've checked into have stopped offering daily cleaning since the coronavirus pandemic began, but we enjoyed a clean bathroom and fresh towels every day on the Carnival Legend. Carnival ships are all about fun, in a lively, let's-not-take-this-too-seriously sort of way.

What is a Havana Interior?

This helps to keep you from leaving the lights on when you aren’t in the room. However, it can be easy to walk out of the cabin and forget your keycard in the reader. As you enter, you have closet and storage space on your left and the cabin bathroom on your right. Enter further into your room and you’ll see a small desk with mirror and pull-out stool on the left.

Cloud 9 Spa Interior Rooms

The opinions expressed below are entirely hers and weren't subject to review by the line. Unless you're traveling with a larger group or plan to spend a lot of time in your cabin, I'm not sure there's any reason to spend more for a larger room or better view. The $460 I paid for this sailing was a good value, considering my room, dining, entertainment, and destinations were all included. Perhaps to some, a 185 square foot cabin without a window may seem like a small, enclosed space. While I have become accustomed to the towel animals on Carnival and other cruise lines, I was pleasantly surprised to see a personal note left by my room attendant on the last night of the cruise.

And if you're lounging by the pool, you can expect servers to come by often and take drink orders. A Cloud 9 Spa Suite is the ultimate in both stateroom and spa accommodations. There's room for you and your things — with a large room and balcony — and a walk-in closet.

The bathrooms in both cabins were identical.

We sailed through a storm for a couple of days, and both the "Welcome Aboard Show" and the Playlist Productions "Epic Rock" show were altered because of it. Instead of a full-on production, we got two short sets from each comedian (for the welcome show) and performers singing from stools on stage ("Epic Rock"). After determining my preferred spirits and flavors, the bartenders always come up with something fantastic.

The bathroom had two wall-mounted towel bars stocked with fresh towels daily. I used it to keep beverages and snacks cool as Carnival allows guests to bring up to 12 cans of soda and one bottle of wine onboard. In addition to the wall outlets above my bed and USB ports at each side of my bed, the desk had even more charging options. There were two additional USB ports, two North American outlets, and one European outlet. I had a small storage table on each side of the bed, each with a lamp.

The overarching idea for Carnival's ship deployments is that a large percentage of the U.S. population can reach one of the line's ships by car, saving the cost of flights. Indeed, if you're going on a Carnival cruise, the odds are you're driving to the ship, not flying, and you're probably not paying much more than you would for a trip to a local beach town. Our room was set extremely cold at night but the comforter kept us warm — borderline hot — while we slept. If you’re worried about thin blankets, then you can put those fears aside.

That's when a cruise line charges a fee to single travelers to make up for the revenue that would have come from having a second person on board in the same cabin, according to the LA Times. Carnival Radiance offers year-round itineraries from Long Beach ranging from three to six nights, with options to visit Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, and Catalina Island in California. Both times I've sailed on Radiance was a three-night sailing to Ensenada. Budget travelers will find the inside cabins very functional; we felt that Carnival utilized the space as best as the cruise line could. There was a lot of attention to detail to ensure the design optimized the small cabin. Cruise ship showers have been notoriously small for years with capsule-shaped shower tubes and sometimes clingy curtains.

Since I was only sailing on a three-night cruise, I didn't need much storage space for clothing. The description of my interior cabin said it was suitable for up to two guests and I agree. I thought I had plenty of room as a solo sailor, but I also wouldn't have found the space too small had I been traveling with my spouse or a friend. What started as a yearly vacation with family quickly turned into a passion for travel, cruising and adventure.

In fact, the lower tiers of the Carnival program are among the most stingy in the entire cruise universe. You'll receive things like a single complimentary bottle of water (at the Red tier) and a single free drink that only can be ordered on the last night of a cruise (at the Gold tier). During the evenings, there is an official dress code, but it's pretty laid-back. Most nights are designated "cruise casual," which means just that — khakis or jeans, polo shirts, sundresses, etc. Super casual items such as cutoff jeans, men's sleeveless shirts, T-shirts and gym shorts aren't permitted. The exceptions are any Carnival ship based in Australia, where pricing is listed in Australian dollars.
